The Zombie Cocktail

The Zombie is an umbrella drink that was popular in the cocktail culture of the 1930s.

The cocktail is essentially a rum punch method of temporarily blotting out much of a person's conscious thoughts.

The Zombie's blend of rum and sweet fruit juices, topped with a beguiling cherry-and-pineapple garnish, make it appear an innocent, almost frou-frou beverage. But, beneath its sweet facade, a Zombie packs a punch that once led bartenders to post placards restricting customers to only one Zombie apiece.

There are hundreds of Zombie recipes: some feature Cognac, while others insist on apricot brandy. All, however, require rum, and lots of it.

Zombie Cocktail

Shake ingredients with ice; strain into a chilled pint glass. Garnish with a pineapple wheel and a cherry. Float Demerara rum (151 proof) and sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

1 oz Apricot Brandy
1 oz light or puerto-rican rum
1 oz dark or jamaican rum
1 oz lemon juice
1 oz lime juice
dashes grenadine
orange juice
1 oz 151

In a cocktail shaker, mix light & dark rums and brandy. Add lemon and lime juice and dashes grenadine. Shake well and strain into a higball glass filled with ice. Fill glass with orange juice leaving room to float 1 oz of 151. Garnish with cherry, orange slice, pinapple wedge.

jetzt mal meinen drehbuchentwurf: return of the bayou-zombies.
nein, man soll keine witze mit katastrophen machen, aber wie schon gesagt: sowas kann man sich garnicht ausdenken.
da muss ein bisschen klapperschlange rein, ein bisschen omega-mann (der koennte auch mal wieder im tv kommen) und viel zombie-flick.
so wasserleichen stehen wieder auf und taumeln durch die strassen, vielleicht noch mit einem hai am arsch, in dem superdome verschanzen sich die leute zwangslaeufig und splatten sich ab wg einem hostage twinkie und die regierung schaut nur zu. nein, baut einen schutzwall, damit die zombies nicht ins binnenland wandern. oder so.
wenn das nicht wirklich passiert waere, dann waere das ne gute geschichte.
